Back in 2008 and 2009, David Byrne hit the road for a fantastic tour that featured a mix of Talking Heads classics and material from Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, a wonderful album he worked on with Brian Eno. A documentary filled with footage from that tour called Ride, Rise, Roar has been put together by filmmaker David Hillman Curtis.
Ride, Rise, Roar will be available on DVD starting May 31. Head over to Pitchfork to get a taste of the film and to see the hit-laden tracklist.
Here’s a look at six other stories of note…

Finally, Pearl Jam’s Ten Club has a reputation as one of the more fan-friendly ventures going, but the band’s fans were not pleased with how the pre-sale for tickets to the PJ20 event at Alpine Valley went yesterday when a new system led to many being unable to pull ducats. An announcement on PearlJam.com states that, “we will IMMEDIATELY begin building a new, state-of-the-art system to avoid ever putting you through the pain-in-the-ass-ness of yesterday.” The public onsale goes down on June 4.

PJ is finally building a new ticketing system, there have been fan complaints for a few years, yet I have never had a problem getting tickets with their system (for some of their highest demand shows) the past 6 MSG shows. A little patient and you can get tickets.
I saw the Baltimore show on that Byrne tour. Simply amazing. DVD is most welcome.
