Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe (KDTU) doesn’t have many gigs booked through the end of the year, but it appears as though they are going to make the ones they have scheduled count.
Following a pair of shows at Brooklyn Bowl on Thursday and Friday and a number of festival appearances, KDTU are teaming up with fellow HT fave Anders Osborne to cover the Rolling Stones’ landmark Sticky Fingers LP on October 28 at the Boulder Theater in Boulder, Colorado. KDTU knows how to add their own signature stamp to covers, so we can’t wait to hear the results of this collaboration.
In other Karl news, the sax wiz will perform with Slightly Stoopid on a Sept. 13 performance that will be webcast live from Bob Weir’s TRI Studios. Ian Neville, Don Carlos and Weir himself are also scheduled to sit in with the San Diego-based band. Slightly Stoopid and their guests will perform two sets (one electric and one acoustic) and you can watch it all for $10.
UPDATE: Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and Anders Osborne will also cover Sticky Fingers on October 21 and 22 at The Independent in San Francisco.
