Allman Brothers / Gov’t Mule Treasure Trove

While I was awaiting Hurricane Irene’s arrival on Saturday I was hipped to a number of fantastic videos featuring members of the Allman Brothers Band and their various projects by fellow NYC-Freak Jarrett Grushka. These clips were uploaded by Mule Army leader Rich Granaas and include rare footage of the one-guitar ABB lineup from 1973, the trio days of Gov’t Mule and four hours and 20 minutes (heady) worth of the legendary One For Woody concert from 2000.

The One For Woody clip was ripped from the webcast. It starts with Phil Lesh’s “Q” and continues with the Allman Brothers Band’s set, which is interesting for the rare pairing of Warren Haynes and Jimmy Herring before Warren replaced Jimmy just a few months later. Look for Chris Robinson guesting on Dreams and Phil Lesh lending his talents to a sizzling Franklin’s set closer. A set billed as “Gov’t Mule and Friends” finishes off the evening and features way too many sit ins to name.

Let’s hope Rich has more videos to share as I spent hours upon hours going through all of these killer clips and I’m thirsty for more! While we can’t embed these videos here, watch ’em on MuleTube or Rich’s Vimeo channel.
