Back in 2009, Ben Kweller threw his fans a bit of a curve-ball with the release of Changing Horses, which saw the singer-songwriter ditch his grunge-pop sound, when he decided to make a straight-ahead country record. After dabbling with pedal steel guitars, and dusty country laments, Kweller will release his long in the works follow up, Go Fly A Kite, on February 7, which is promising to hit “hard with the unforgettably melodic and heartwarming fuzzed-out Rock ‘n’ Roll that first put Kweller on the map.” The album, which will be the debut release on Kweller’s new label The Noise Company, is currently available for pre-order via his website, with one lucky person receiving a “Golden Laminate” which gives will grant then free admission to Ben Kweller Shows for life – yes you read that right, for life. Ben will head out in support of the album with a 17-date, cross-country tour that kicks off on March 21 at Bowery Presents’ newest venue, the recently opened Union Transfer in Philadelphia.
