Today marks Grateful Dead / Furthur bassist Phil Lesh’s 72nd birthday and we wanted to celebrate by sharing a new to YouTube clip of Lesh at his finest. There’s was magic in the air whenever the Dead took the stage at Hampton Coliseum and it displayed itself at nearly every show the group played at the Virginia venue. One such magical performance took place on March 27, 1988, where Lesh and his band mates started the second set with a space jam that led into a noodling around Miles Davis’s So What.
