Microsoft unveiled its Zune digital music device and service today (Sept. 14), the latest product launch to compete with Apple’s succesful iPod and iTunes. The new Zune player will have a 30GB hard drive, built-in FM tuner, 3.0-inch screen, and 802.11 wireless. It will also come in three colors, black, brown and white.
The wireless networking connects your Zune to other Zunes, letting you share “full-length sample tracks of select songs”, your recordings, your playlists and your pictures with others. You can listen to a track from another person for up to three days, after which you’ll have to buy it from the Zune Marketplace store
