Blur Unveils New Album Details

Blur have unveiled plans to start working on a new album next year.

The band have said that no tour plans are likely but a date has already been set to start working on the follow up to 2003’s Think Tank.

Guitarist Graham Coxon left the band in 2002 and Damon Albarn has been pre-occupied with Gorillaz and his new side project The Good, The Bad And The Queen ever since.

But drummer Dave Rowntree told BBC 6 Music: "The days of Blur doing a tour will not happen, most of the band have kids now, and when you’re a touring band you have to make a choice, so there will never be a return to that, but we have been talking about doing an album next year, we have even set a date for it."

Bassist Alex James also said that he would like Coxon to return for their next album.

He added: "I think we’d all like to make another record. We’d all like to do it with Graham, we may have to beg him a bit though."
