The folks of Across-the-Way Productions, the Floyd County, VA based company that brings 4-days of spectacular music and fun to the Blue Ridge Parkway every year, don’t slow down for Christmas. The 2007 theme and graphic has been announced, along with the preliminary line-up, with the traditionally un-traditional array of artists from every genre, those you’ve heard of and those who, if you haven’t, you soon will. Devotees of the annual family-friendly summer bash who purchase tickets by December 31st can expect to receive up to 40% off gate prices to the event. With a December 4-day pass coming in at only $85, which includes all credit card and processing fees.
2007’s “It’s in the Mix” theme highlights the diversity and all-inclusive nature of the event. The musical genres you can expect to hear at FloydFest range from the cutting-edge sounds of the newest stars in bluegrass such as Blue Highway, 3 Fox Drive, and the Infamous Stringdusters, to returning favorite Americana rockers Donna the Buffalo and Charlottesville-based old time punkers The Hackensaw Boys. The Blue Ridge to Bayou Dance Tent, always a haven for those who like to kick up their heels, can boogie till the wee hours with Little Brian & the Zydeco Travelers.
Also joining FloydFest 6: Sugar Hill Recording gems The Duhks, old time geniuses the Carolina Chocolate Drops, the best band that you’ve never heard of – DevotcKa, The Waybacks, the 2006 winners of the Australian equivalent of the Grammy’s The Cat Empire, and Lafayette, LA favorites Feufollet, with many more to be announced in upcoming months!
Local and regional artists include Jan Smith, Kat Mills, Blue Mule, William Walter, The Seed, Wild Turkeys, Sol Creech Band, American Dumpster and more!!!
