Phil Lesh To Throw Birthday Concert For Jerry

Not to be outdone by his Grateful Dead/Furthur band mate Bob Weir, who is organizing a musical meeting of the jam/indie minds dedicated to Jerry Garcia called Move Me Brightly that will be webcast for free from TRI Studios on August 3, bassist Phil Lesh will honor Jer on what would’ve been his 70th birthday, August 1, with a special Terrapin Crossroads concert.

Lesh will perform with drummer John Molo, multi-instrumentalist Jackie Greene, guitarists Mark Karan and Ross James as well as Grahame and Brian Lesh on the 1st at Phil’s San Rafael, Calif. venue. Tickets will cost a mere $25 and go on sale today at 2PM PT through the venue’s website.

  1. Love any tribute to jer but why cant phil and bobby and mickey and bill just drop all their baggage and come together for the man that really made them famous. maybe some of them would been famouse without jerry but i doubt it. Would love to see a tribute with remaining bandmates. These guys are aging and I hope they do it b4 it is to late. Glad to hear phil is on board with something
