Warren Haynes Releasing Christmas Jam ’00 For Charity

Evil Teen Records and Warren Haynes will release The Benefit Concert Vol. 2,
Tuesday, March 6,
2007. Recorded live December 21, 2000, at Warren
Haynes' 12th Annual
Christmas Jam in Asheville, NC, at the Thomas Wolfe
Auditorium, The
Benefit Concert Vol. 2 is the sequel to the acclaimed Wintertime
Blues,
the live recording from 1999's 11th Annual concert.

Warren Haynes began this great annual tradition 18 years ago at a small
club in Asheville. The club, 45 Cherry Street which had a capacity of 100
people, no longer exists, but the Christmas Jam has become an annual
event not to be missed. The jam now takes place at the Asheville Civic
Center which holds 7200 people. Regardless of the line up the event has
sold out every year. The 2006 Christmas Jam sold out in 20 minutes.

"I created the event because local musicians were home around Christmas
to jam together. Instead of being locked away in some rehearsal room, I
thought it would be fun to make a public event out of the jam session and
since it was holiday time I decided to donate all profits to charity,"
Haynes explains.

Initially, the charities varied from Vietnam Veterans, AIDS charities,
and homeless relief groups among others. Haynes settled on Habitat for
Humanity nine years ago and has since raised $500,000.

Like each of the benefits, the 2000 concert saw Warren Haynes put
together a stellar lineup of musicians that featured Gov't Mule, Gregg
Allman and The Allman Brothers Band, The Bottle Rockets, the Chris Duarte
Band and an Aquarium Rescue Unit reunion featuring Col. Bruce Hampton.
Gov't Mule also welcomed very special guests: Mike Barnes, Audley Freed
(Black Crowes), Kevn Kinney (Drivin' n' Cryin'), Dr. Dan Matrazzo, Edwin
McCain, John Popper (Blues Traveler), Paul Riddle (Marshall Tucker Band)
and Dave Schools (Widespread Panic). In addition, The Benefit Concert Vol. 2
includes previously unreleased solo
acoustic material by Warren Haynes himself.

The Benefit Concert Vol. 2 spans two discs and offers more than two hours
of incredible music. From Gregg Allman's "Come and Go Blues" with Warren
on guitar, and Drivin' n' Cryin's hit, "Scarred but Smarter" performed by
Kevn Kinney and John Popper, to Gov't Mule crowd-pleasers like their
cover of Tom Waits' "Goin' Out West," this record is sure to offer
something for everyone. And what would this amazing line-up be without a
reunion? The Benefit Concert Vol. 2 is highlighted by the Aquarium Rescue
Unit's (Col. Bruce Hampton, Jimmy Herring, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Sipe) first
performance in nearly 5 years and the Warren
Haynes' Jammy award winning
song, "Soulshine," performed by The Allman
Brothers Band.

All proceeds from the Christmas Jam and CD sales will benefit Habitat For
Humanity, an international non-profit organization dedicated to building
affordable housing in partnership with those in need of adequate shelter.
