Ataris Announce Tour In Support of New Album

The Ataris will hit the road this February on a headline tour in support
of Welcome the Night, their first album released on Sanctuary/Isola
Records in stores February 20th.

The Ataris' last CD, So Long Astoria, sold over 1 million copies
worldwide and spawned two top-ten hit singles. The band's captivating
first single, "Not Capable of Love" is getting lots of attention from
radio and the video has recently been added to FUSE. Welcome the Night
showcases the maturation of The Ataris as musicians and songwriters, and
one listen shows how they have grown as a band. With songs like the
introspective rocker "New Year's Day" and the melancholy "And We All
Become like Smoke," the album takes the audience on the emotional
journey the band went through while creating the record. This new
release takes the band back to basics, with singer/songwriter Kris Roe's
lyrics and passionate vocals reminding listeners why The Ataris have
built a steady fan following since coming on to the scene in 1997.

The tour will kick off in February in Philadelphia and extend for the
next few months. Asobi Seksu is the main support on the first half of
the tour through March 11th and then will be replaced by Blackpool
Lights from March 12th on. Wax On Radio will be the opening act for the
whole length of the tour.
