Bruce Hornsby Records Instrumental Jazz Album with Christian McBride & Jack DeJohnette

Bruce Hornsby will release his first full-length instrumental jazz album, "Camp Meeting," Aug. 7 via Legacy. Joined by renowned jazz musicians Christian McBride and Jack DeJohnette on bass and drums, respectively, Hornsby has recorded an 11-song mix of original compositions and covers of songs by John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, Keith Jarrett and Bud Powell.

Additionally, the album will feature a previously unrecorded work by Ornette Coleman, "Questions and Answers." The trio plans to follow the release with a brief tour that will visit Northampton, Mass., on Aug. 10, the Newport Jazz Festival in Rhode Island the following day, Los Angeles on Aug. 22 and San Francisco on Aug. 23.
