There’s a must-see encore episode of Austin City Limits this weekend as pioneering noise-rockers Sonic Youth split the show with blues-rock duo The Black Keys. “The Black Keys are headlining festivals and arenas these days, but this performance – one of the last shows in the original, historic Austin City Limits studio – captures the essence of what makes their music resonate with so many millions of new fans,” says executive producer Terry Lickona in a statement. “Little did they know, but the 300 people in the studio were witnessing history, and it’s great to be able to re-live that day again!” Add to that a look at Sonic Youth in action from just before they began their current “indefinate hiatus.”
