V Fest Returns to Pimlico Race Course This Weekend

Virgin Festival, Pimlico Race Course, Baltimore, Maryland, August 4 & 5 — V Fest Goes Green!

Sure it’s a cliche to say that the Virgin Festival (V Fest) is even "bigger and better" than last year, (America’s inaugural year for the UK-based fest), but sometimes cliches work best.  This year, Sir Richard and company have added another day of music celebration, which also includes top-notch food, art, DJs, attractions (e.g., the Freak Lounge), and environmental education.

Green rockers and fans can party with a clean conscience, since the festival will have "Green Angels" assisting with recycling waste, reusables, compost, and trash — what little trash that will be generated — even the cups and plates are corn-based and biodegradable.  The festival will be donating wind and solar energy to counterbalance its carbon emissions over the two-day event.  As of this writing, they’re looking for volunteers to help with its massive green efforts: check V Fest’s website and its "Green It" link of the "Experience" page for more information on how you can help.

Oh, yes, and the music: Modest Mouse, The Police, Ben Harper, Fountains of Wayne, Interpol, Cheap Trick, Incubus, 311, Wu Tang Clan, Bad Brains, Smashing Pumpkins, Amy Winehouse, Panic! at the Disco, LCD Soundsystem, Matisyahu, and many more.

You’ll be hungry and thirsty from all the mosh-pit dancing: Food choices include crab cakes, grilled shrimp, burgers, veggie wraps, BBQ, Chinese food, pizza, pulled pork, and Boardwalk Fries, so bring some "fun money."

So, if you’re looking for something memorable, remarkable, and amazing to do the weekend of August 4 & 5, then book your tickets for Virgin Festival at Baltimore’s Pimlico Race Course.
