With the final act of day two hitting the stage, one would wonder –How can Warren Haynes and Gov’t Mule take it up yet another notch? How about opening with a reggae version of Steve Miller Band’s “The Joker”. As the crowd quickly erupts into an impromptu “woo-wooo”, it was easy to see how the often touted hardest working man in the biz was not going to have a problem.

Once again music lovers and beer enthusiasts alike found their way to Telluride Town Park for the 17th Annual Telluride Blues and Brews Festival. Not just any mountain town can pull off three days of blues, great beer with not a drop of snow, sleet or rain in sight. Telluride couldn’t have dreamed of better weather for this year’s festival. Maybe it was mother nature’s way of saying thanks for making this year’s event the greenest of them all. Over 26 metric tons of carbon waste was offset this year through use of solar cells, recycling efforts and transportation coordination.

September 18-20  marked the 16th annual Telluride Blues and Brews Festival. With a majestic back drop that’s truly hard to believe until seen, Telluride sets the stage for some of the best classic and modern blues musicians.  As Mother Nature brought its arsenal to this year’s event, Telluride matched it round for round with music; sunshine to rain, then hail, and back to sunshine again and Telluride rock’d it from the get-go.

Salty blues, free flow’n hip hop & roots. You call it the way you hear it, because G. Love and Special Sauce doesn’t fit into a typical music genre. But after 13 years of playing music one thing’s for certain… the Philly band always keeps it served up like a cold beverage.

Last week Hot Buttered Rum made another appearance in the cold and snowy northern Arizona town of Flagstaff. The show at the Orpheum Theater however, was anything but cold.
