100 Years Ago Today – The Late Great Guitarist Wes Montgomery Was Born

100 years ago today (3/6/23), the late great jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery was born. Montgomery made his mark as one of the most influential and intellectually curious players of all time and his unusual technique fused swing and blues with bebop and hard pop, creating a fusion that was pure “Wes.” Montgomery passed away at the too-young age of 45 in 1968 – check him out live here in ’65.
