12 Years Ago Today- Guitarist Johnny Quaid & Keyboard Player Danny Cash Quit My Morning Jacket (Watch “Lowdown”Live Bonnaroo ’03)

12 years ago today (1/21/04), guitarist Jonny Quaid and keyboardist Danny Cash quit My Morning Jacket citing tour fatigue. Both members played on 2003’s It Still Moves, regarded by many as their finest record with live stalwarts that include “One Big Holiday, “Golden,” “Master Plan” and “Run Thru.”  They were then replaced by Bo Koster (keys) and Carl Broemel (guitar) and the band took on a different musical direction and have since grown to be one of today’s biggest touring acts, headlining the biggest festivals in the U.S. Watch the Quaid/Cash era My Morning Jacket play “Lowdown” off Tennessee Fire at Bonnaroo 2003.
