25 Years Ago Today – Phish Covers The Who’s ‘Quadrophenia’ For Halloween Musical Costume (Listen to “5:15”)

25 years ago today (10/31/95) at the Rosemont Horizon in Rosemont, IL, Phish covered The Who’s 1973 double-album rock opera Quadrophenia. It marked the second of six Halloween shows in which Phish dressed up in a “musical costume” by performing an album from another artist in its entirety. Along with a horn section, and led by keyboardist Page McConnell on lead vocals for a majority of the Roger Daltrey sung tunes completed perhaps their most ambitious live show at the time in their then 12-year career. Listen to a boisterous version of “5:15” from that Halloween show, a cover that would be most welcome back in Phish setlists today.
