25 years ago today (5/9/98), Brian Wilson performed his first-ever solo show at the Cultural Arts Center in St. Charles, Illinois. After performing on and off live with The Beach Boys since the early ’60s, it wasnt till the second half of his career that the Brian Wilson solo era would begin and one that would find him touring consistently for the past 20 years – including the unveiling of Smile live and performing all of Pet Sounds live. Wilson released his first solo album in 1988, but ten years later he finally stepped out on his own with a six-song setlist.
