25 Years Ago Today – Foo Fighters Release Second Album ‘The Colour and the Shape’

25 years ago today (5/20/97), Foo Fighters released their second studio album The Colour and the Shape. Considered by many to be the band’s strongest top to the bottom album, it featured the hits “Monkey Wrench,” “Everlong” and “My Hero.” The personnel on the album was Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, and Nate Mendel, with Grohl re-recording all of then drummer William Goldsmith’s parts that forced the Sunny Day Real Estate drummer to leave the band, later to be filled by Taylor Hawkins.
