25 years ago today (7/19/94), Marilyn Manson released his debut album Portrait of an American Family. Nine Inch Nails vocalist Trent Reznor signed them to his Nothing Records after the band started to make a scene with its shock rock and visually entertaining concerts. Although 1996’s Antichrist Superstar catapulted the band to mainstream success, Portrait planted all the evil seeds.
