25 years ago today (3/29/94), Phish released their fifth studio album Hoist. The album was recorded in Woodland Hills, CA and was their biggest production to date and included guest spots from features guest appearances from Alison Krauss, Béla Fleck, Tower of Power, Rose Stone. Two of the songs on Hoist would become a couple of the band biggest jam vehicles (“Down With Disease,” “Wolfman’s Brother”) while others still remain fan favorites (“Scent of a Mule,” “If I Could”). Back when the band thought it was still fun to pun on Phish/Fish- check em out their silly “underwater” video for “Down With Disease” directed by bassist Mike Gordon – still their only music video to date.
