27 Years Ago Today- Soundgarden Releases Commercial Breakthrough LP ‘Badmotorfinger’ (Watch “Room A Thousand Years Wide” Live ’92)

27 years ago today (10/8/91), Soundgarden released their third studio LP Badmotorfinger at the height of the grunge movement. The singles “Outshined” and “Rusty Cage” dominated hard rock radio and found the band opening for Guns N’ Roses on their Use Your Illusion tour. In 1992, Badmotorfinger was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. Badmotorfinger was the first Soundgarden album with bassist Ben Shepherd, which help offer a more dynamic low end and assisted with the album itself in crossing many boundaries of hard rock , making it a favorite for fans of an assortment of genres. Watch Soundgarden tear up “Room A Thousand Years Wide” off Badmotorfinger live in 1992.
