25 Years Ago Today – Spoon Releases ‘Soft Effects’ EP

While most Spoon fans can name every Spoon full length easily (a near-perfect discography), it’s often forgotten the Britt Daniel lead Austin band had two must-hear EPs in their early days. 25 years ago today (1/21/97), the band released their second EP Soft Effects. The EP showed Spoon growing from the rough edges of their debut Telephono to a more focused edge that would signify a maturity found in the band’s soon-to-be streak of near-perfect albums.
