30 Years Ago Today – Arrest Development Releases Debut LP ‘3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of… (Watch “Mr. Wendal” Video)

Before the television series of the same name, there was a soulful hip hop collective that helped kick off the southern hip hop movement yet was very socially conscious (also earning an invite on Lollapalooza ’93 tour). 30 years ago today (3/24/92), Atlanta’s Arrested Development led by the unassuming Speech, released their debut LP 3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of… which went on to sell four million copies courtesy of the hits “Tennessee,” “People Everyday” and “Mr. Wendal” -all of which received steady MTV play. Check out or revisit the video for the catchy “Mr. Wendal”
