30 Years Ago Today- Neil Young Releases Harvest Moon

30 years ago today (11/2/92), Neil Young released his 19th studio album Harvest Moon the third critically acclaimed album of a mid-career renaissance following his ’80s run of albums with Geffen where there were more misses than hits. Featuring Young mainly on acoustic guitar and vocals along with Ben Keith on pedal steel with Spooner Oldham (keys) and Kenny Buttrey (drums); Young recorded ten classically elegant war songs of no filler, featuring rustic atmospheres (courtesy of analog recording) and some of Young’s most poignant lyrics to date. Some of these choice cuts included the tribute to his late ex-wife Pegi Young on “Unknown Legend” and the forever imaginative “Dreamin’ Man”. Watch Neil perform “Unknown Legend” from MTV Unplugged.
