30 Years Ago Today – The Crow Soundtrack Was Released Feat. The Cure, NIN, Rage Against The Machine, Helmet & More

30 years ago today (3/29/94), the soundtrack to the film The Crow was released and might have been many a listener’s first introduction to Joy Division thanks to Nine Inch Nails’ blistering covering of “Dead Souls.” Another standout track is “Burn” by The Cure, which opens the soundtrack, and “Big Empty” by Stone Temple Pilots, with its explosive chorus. Along with tracks by Rage Against The Machine, Violent Femmes, Rolins Band, Helmet, Pantera, and more; the soundtrack is very defining in darker 90s rock, and perhaps a shadowing of the freak accidental death of Brandon Lee on the set of the film.
