35 years ago today (1/3/87), Aretha Franklin became the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The “Queen of Soul,” needs no introduction as she remains iconic with 18 Grammys and hallowed history of her own. 1987 was only the second year the Hall of Fame ran the inductee game, so Aretha never had to wait the game that later female artists like Tina Turner and Linda Ronstadt.
