Hard to believe that the Peter Gabriel of So and 80’s MTV stardom was the same guy who performed as walking STD as the Slipperman in The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Well, 35 years ago today (5/19/86), Gabriel released his fifth album So– one that spawned many hits and much TV airplay.
So features hits such as “Sledgehammer,” “Big Time,” “Red Rain,” the haunting duet “Don’t Give Up” with Kate Bush, and the plaintive “In Your Eyes.” Check out Peter Gabriel and his ace band perform live in 1987 at Philly’s Spectrum on the So Tour.
