35 Years Ago Today- Temple of the Dog Releases Debut & Only Album

35 years ago today (4/16/91), the lone album from Temple of the Dog was released. The Seattle collective brought together Chris Cornell and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden with Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, and Jeff Ament—just as Pearl Jam was beginning to take shape.

The project was conceived as a tribute to Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone, who died of a heroin overdose in 1990. The band reunited briefly in late 2016 for a short U.S. arena tour, a final chapter before Cornell’s passing in May 2017.

Before the spotlight hit, check out Temple of the Dog live at Seattle’s Off Ramp Cafe on 11/13/90.
