35 years ago today (12/7/87), The Replacements, notorious for being fascinatingly on one night and horrendously off the next, performed their well-known debauched Portland, Oregon show at the since-closed Pine Street Theatre. Legend has it the band was quite drunk when they took the stage and the short set (touring in support of 1987’s Pleased To Meet Me) ended up with misplayed covers and other belligerent shenanigans. The show feeds the topic of their previously unreleased song “Portland,” which later surfaced on the Don’t Tell a Soul 2008 reissue. Check out the prementioned song which was recorded by Middle Brother on their self-titled 2011 album.
