40 Years Ago Today – Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Tusk’ Is Released (Watch “Angel” Studio Outtakes)

40 years ago today (10/12/79), Fleetwood Mac released their more expensive, expansive and arguably strongest album Tusk. Bassist John McVie has commented that the album sounds like “the work of three solo artists” (Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie), while Mick Fleetwood later proclaimed that it is his favorite and the best Fleetwood Mac studio album created by the group. A lot of the creative direction of the album was spearheaded by Lindsey Buckingham, who today is suing the band for his spring firing prior to the band’s world tour. Watch studio outtakes of Fleetwood Mac recording the Stevie Nicks’ classic “Angel.”
