40 Years Ago Today – Commodores Get “Easy” & “Brick House” With Self Titled Fifth LP (Watch “Brick House” Video)

40 years ago today (5/30/77), The Commodores, featuring Lionel Richie released their self-titled fifth album. The band mixed up the musical styles for the album, with the funk favorite”Brick House” along with the big ballad “Easy.” The album spent eight weeks at the top of the R&B/soul albums chart, the second of their albums to do so, and was their first Top 5 pop album.
