42 Years Ago Today – Motörhead Releases Debut LP (Listen to “Vibrator”)

42 years ago today (8/21/77), Motörhead released their debut self-titled studio album. Lemmy, having earlier been fired from Hawkwind and put together a new band fueled by his affinity for the hard edged/street level lifestyle. The album released on Chiswick Records would be the first album with the ‘classic’ line up of Kilmister, Clarke, Taylor – their only release under Chiswick – as due to the success of this album they were signed to Bronze Records by early 1978.
