40 years ago today (2/25/85), Tears For Fears released their second Songs from the Big Chair, a significant departure from the synth-based sound of their 1983 debut, The Hurting, to a more guitar-rock-oriented effort. The album features some of their biggest hits, including “Everybody Wants To Rule The World,” “Shout,” and “Head Over Heels.” Tears For Fears received more MTV play than almost anyone with the success of Song From The Big Chair, and the band has experienced a revival in recent years, selling out amphitheaters and arenas again. Good songwriting lasts forever, and Tears For Fears certainly deserves the accolades. Watch Roland and Curt deliver “Head Over Heels” live in ’85….
