50 Years Ago Today – Led Zeppelin Released Self Titled Debut LP (Watch “Dazed and Confused” Live ’69)

50 years ago today (1/12/69), Led Zeppelin released their self-titled debut LP. The album was recorded in September and October 1968 at Olympic Studios, London, shortly after the band’s formation. It contains a mix of original material worked out in the first rehearsals, and remakes and rearrangements of contemporary blues and folk songs. Aside from the release, it was the starting point of one of rock’s most legendary bands and a reference point for all debut records. Watch this live performance of “Dazed and Confused” taped in Denmark in 1969.
