50 years ago today (5/21/71), Marvin Gaye released What’s Going On, his most critically acclaimed album and one many consider to be the greatest of all time. In 2020, it was ranked number one on Rolling Stone‘s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time replacing St. Peppers at the top spot from the original 2003 list.
