50 years ago today (4/17/70), Paul McCartney, released McCartney the first of his 35 (and counting) solo LPS. Recorded shortly after John Lennon’s private announcement that he was leaving The Beatles and released less a month before The Fab Four’s final LP Let It Be; the self-titled McCartney featured a homey lo-fi style, where Paul played every instrument with vocal contributions from wife Linda. The LP’s most recognized song is “Maybe I’m Amazed,” however “That Would Be Something,” “Every Night” and “Junk” have since made lasting impressions. Listen to “That Would Be Something” off McCartney..
