50 years ago today (11/4/69), The Allman Brothers Band released their self-titled debut album. With seven songs, the album showcased the chops and versatile musicianship of the quintet that would in a year and a half go onto record the victorious live album At Fillmore East. This 1969 debut includes re-workings of “Trouble No More” and “Don’t Want You No More,” (Muddy Waters, Spencer Davis) as well as powerful originals “Dreams” and “Whipping Post”, which would go onto become large live jam vehicles.
