50 years ago today (3/9/71), Alice Cooper released the big and brash LP Love It To Death. At the time Alice Cooper was very much a band in name and in its members as along with its namesake singer, the band’s other members (Glen Buxton, Neil Smith, Michael Bruce Dennis Dunaway) were all viable contributors as songwriters and musical voices. On this their third LP, Love It To Death contained the band’s first real hit “I’m Eighteen,” but all nine songs were no filler proto glam-metal that has since played a significant role in rock’s continual evolution. Watch the band perform “Is It My Body” off Love It To Death live…
