55 years ago today (8/5/67), Pink Floyd released their debut LP Piper at the Gates of Dawn. The album is most remembered as the only one made with Syd Barrett as the core lead vocalist and songwriter as he wrote and sang lead on a majority of the tracks. David Gilmour would appear on the second Pink Floyd LP A Saucerful of Secrets and Barett would be gone from the band.
