55 Years Ago Today – The Beatles Play Historic Shea Stadium Performance

55 years ago today (8/16/65), The Beatles played one of rock’s most historic gigs as they took the stage at Flushing, NY’s Shea Stadium. The performance set a new world record for the largest attendance at a pop concert when they played in front of 55,600 fans and the setlist included: ‘Twist and Shout’, ‘She’s a Woman’, ‘I Feel Fine’, ‘Dizzy Miss Lizzie’, ‘Ticket to Ride’, ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’, ‘Baby’s In Black’, ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’, ‘A Hard Day’s Night’, ‘Help!’, and ‘I’m Down’.
