75 Years Ago Today – The Late Brian Jones (Rolling Stones) Was Born (Watch “Under My Thumb” Live ’66)

75 years ago today (2/28/72), the late Brian Jones (Rolling Stones) was born. The multi-instrumentalist and founding member of The Stones  was originally the leader of the group and came up with the band’s name.  Although later over-shadowed by Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, Jones added a distinct sound with his slide guitar and multi instruments including theremin and sitar. Jones tragically died on July 3rd 1969, after drowning in his swimming pool. Watch the Stones with Brian Jones perform “Under My Thumb” live in 1966..
