It’s equal parts ironic and unfair that harpist/ songwriter/vocalist Charlie Musselwhite receives the greatest recognition for those projects on which he collaborates. A pedigree rooted in his musical schooling in the Chicago blues scene fosters his connection to the disparate likes of Ben Harper and Elvin Bishop, but as illustrated by this solo performance in the year of his latest release under his own name, Mississippi Son, he blossoms in full to capture and hold attention by himself.
