Five years ago today (11/18/16), the world lost the very soulful and talented Sharon Jones at the age of 60. Jones Jones was a late bloomer of sorts and released her first record when she was 40 years old and later in 2002 she released Dap Dippin’ with Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, which was the debut album by Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings. From there on she helped lift the Daptone sound to prestigious levels that today still embody the righteous music of decades past.
