Happy 60th Birthday today to guitarist Johnny Marr (born 10/31/63), His distinctive guitar work and songwriting contributions with The Smiths played a significant role in shaping the band’s sound and legacy that has helped make rock’s most memorable and moody songbooks. Marr has continued to have a successful career both as a solo artist and collaborating with various other musicians and bands including Modest Mouse.
