Happy 60th birthday to Sharon Jones who was born on 5/4/56. Jones released her first record when she was 40 years old and later in 2002 she released Dap Dippin’ with Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, which was the debut album by Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings. This would also be the first full length release from Daptone Records. In 2014, Jones was nominated for her first Grammy for Best R&B Album for Give the People What They Want.
