Happy 60th birthday today to guitarist, singer, songwriter, actor, and political activist Tom Morello (born 5/30/64). As the co-founder and lead guitarist of Rage Against the Machine and then with Audioslave, Morello has developed a sound quite his own, full of boombastic effects and machine gun leads. In recent years, Morello regrouped Rage for a tour that, although short, was long-awaited, and the band earned induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame- of which only Morello attended.
