Happy 68th Birthday to Rick Wakeman of YES (Watch “Roundabout” Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Inductions)

Happy 68th birthday to keyboard luminary and loyal cape wearer Rick Wakeman who was born on 5/18/49. Before becoming a member of YES following Tony Kayes departure prior to Fragile,  Wakeman was a session musician and his early sessions included playing on “Space Oddity”, for David Bowie and songs by Junior’s Eyes, T. Rex, Elton John, and Cat Stevens. Wakeman became a member of Strawbs and then the classic line-up in Yes and was featured on the prog bands most iconic albums including Relayer, Tales from Topographic Oceans and Going for the One. As a solo artist he scored the 1974 UK No.1 album ‘Journey To The Centre Of The Earth’.  Most recently Wakeman is touring with Yes Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman. Let’s watch Yes perform “Roundabout” live at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies with special guest Geddy Lee from last month..
