Happy 70th birthday today to Mike Campbell (born 2/1/50), guitarist with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers since their inception till their end in 2017. Campbell has been Petty’s most trusted collaborator and co-wrote many of the band’s hits with Petty, including “Refugee”, “Here Comes My Girl”, “You Got Lucky”, and “Runnin’ Down a Dream.” Most recently Campbell joined Fleetwood Mac to replace lead guitarist Lindsey Buckingham on their world tour in 2018-19 and his former side band but now main band The Dirty Knobs will be releasing their debut LP Wreckless Abandon on March 20th.
